Is watermelon medicinal? Well, it is full of water and sugar and considered a nutrient dense food with high amounts of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and a low amount of calories. After the cyclone and the drought in Vanuatu, the melon saved the day for locals and visitors. When most other fruit was still taking its time to grow, watermelon was here for us in abundance. Light, refreshing, sweet and yum, everyone loves the summer taste of watermelon. It is one of those fruits that everyone knows how to eat, but that’s about it! So for this issue, I thought to explore a few tasty watermelon recipes. 1 cup watermelon without the pips. 1 shot of tequila. Squeeze of lemon/lime juice. 2 Tbsp sugar syrup. 1Tbsp triple sec liqueur. Blend all ingredients together. Pour into a wide Margarita glass and line the rim of the glass with lemon then salt. Cheers to that! Use banana or cauliflower, yes you heard right. Just to bulk it up. ½ cup banana or cauliflower.. 1 cup watermelon. 1 cup natural yoghurt. 1 cup berries. Blend away and enjoy it.
