What: Viet­nam Farm & Food Expo

Where: SECC (799 Nguyen Van Linh, D7)

About: At present, Viet­nam's agri­cul­tural prod­ucts are present mostly in big im­port mar­kets such as the US, the EU and Ja­pan. The to­tal agri­cul­tural ex­port value ac­counts for 20% of the to­tal ex­port turnover of the coun­try, striv­ing to reach the to­tal value of USD39-40 bil­lion by 2020.

The show fa­cil­i­tates the pro­mo­tion of Viet­nam's agri­cul­tural com­modi­ties and food­stuffs to key ex­port mar­kets; at the same time ex­pands new ex­port mar­kets, po­ten­tial mar­kets, strength­ens the con­nec­tiv­ity be­tween ex­porters and im­porters to meet mar­ket re­quire­ments.

The con­sumers' cur­rent trend is to­wards fine, nat­u­ral-de­rived prod­ucts. En­sur­ing a fine prod­ucts value chain "from farm to fork" is the first pro­duc­tion cri­te­ria of many of to­day's true agri­cul­tural pro­duc­ers. The show aims to in­tro­duce, honor and pro­mote brands as the pi­o­neer­ing and pos­i­tive fac­tors.

The show does agribusi­ness net­work­ing to agri­cul­tural pro­duc­ers and do­mes­tic and for­eign en­ter­prises to en­hance the investment, pro­duc­tion and con­sump­tion of agri­cul­tural prod­ucts in the value-added chain of prod­ucts. This not only helps farm­ers ben­e­fit, but also con­trib­utes to the com­pet­i­tive­ness of agri­cul­tural prod­ucts.

What: Stéphane Tran Ngoc & Ste­fano Miceli

About: Con­cert fea­tur­ing Ital­ian-born com­poser and pi­anist Ste­fano Miceli who has col­lab­o­rated with hun­dreds of renowned or­ches­tras across Europe and Amer­ica in­clud­ing sev­eral per­for­mances at the world ac­claimed Carnegie Hall (New York) both as a con­duc­tor and as a pi­anist. Stéphane Tran Ngoc is a veteran vi­olin­ist born in Paris and win­ner of the Lip­izer Prize, Pa­ganini Com­pe­ti­tion, Aspen Music Fes­ti­val, as well as Long Thibaud Grand Prix in 1990. He will be per­form­ing the Con­certo for Strings and Vi­o­lin by Pe­teris Vasks. The con­cert will also fea­ture the Over­ture-Fan­tasy Romeo & Juliet by Tchaikovsky and the or­ches­tral poem Night on Bald Moun­tain by M. Mus­sorgsky.

What: New Com­po­si­tions in Music and Con­tem­po­rary Dance by Viet­namese Artists

About: Ev­ery year, HBSO ded­i­cates the month of July to the in­tro­duc­tion of new orig­i­nal works from Viet­namese com­posers and chore­og­ra­phers in the fields of dance and music. The July show­case of New Com­po­si­tions in Music and Con­tem­po­rary Dance will pre­miere the Suite Sym­phony Rem­i­nis­cence by Com­poser Nguyen Manh Duy Linh, Suite Spring Prayer for choir and orches­tra by Com­poser Vu Viet

Anh, and Pre­lude & Fugue for Orches­tra by Com­poser Nguyen Do Anh Tuan. All works will be per­formed by HBSO’s Choir and Sym­phony Orches­tra un­der Con­duc­tor Tran Nhat Minh.

What: Shane Fi­lan Love Al­ways Tour

Where: Lan Anh Sta­dium (285 CMT8, D10), 7:30pm-10pm About: Shortly af­ter an­nounc­ing UK and Ire­land dates for the au­tumn, ex-Westlife lead singer and front­man Shane Fi­lan has de­cided to kick things off in a warmer cli­mate. The tour comes in sup­port of his re­cently an­nounced third al­bum, Love Al­ways. The Ir­ish crooner was last seen in town in 2014, pro­mot­ing his de­but solo al­bum, You and Me.

Fol­low­ing a re­mark­able jour­ney with Westlife and its breakup in 2012, Fi­lan has ce­mented his sta­tus as one of the UK’s most pop­u­lar male artists. A fol­lowup to 2015’s No. 1 al­bum, Right Here, Love Al­ways is “a col­lec­tion of some of my fa­vorite clas­sic love songs,” said Fi­lan in a state­ment. “It’s an al­bum I’ve wanted to make for a long time,” adding, “There’s also a few orig­i­nal tracks on there, some that I’ve writ­ten my­self. It’s al­ways amaz­ing to get into the stu­dio and see what we can cre­ate. I can’t wait for my fans to hear the al­bum. It has been a long time com­ing.” So in this up­com­ing show, fans can ex­pect no less than time­less love bal­lads, solo hits as well as the best of Westlife.

What: Viet­nam In­ter­na­tional Fin­ger style Guitar Fes­ti­val Where: HCMC Con­ser­va­tory Hall (112 Nguyen Du, D1), tick­ets start at VND500,000

About: This is an an­nual event that has been or­ga­nized con­tin­u­ously in Asia since 2010. With the par­tic­i­pa­tion of fa­mous fin­ger-style gui­tarists from many coun­tries, this year sees 16 con­certs in seven coun­tries: Ja­pan, Korea, Tai­wan, China, Viet­nam, Malaysia and Sin­ga­pore. Fin­ger style guitar is the tech­nique of play­ing the guitar by pluck­ing the strings di­rectly with the fin­ger­tips, fin­ger­nails, or picks at­tached to fin­gers, as op­posed to flat­pick­ing (pick­ing in­di­vid­ual notes with a sin­gle plec­trum called a flat­pick).

About: EA Night Of Ro­man­tic Music is ded­i­cated to the works of two of the most fa­mous Ro­man­ti­cism com­posers of the

19th cen­tury, Robert Schu­mann and Felix Mendelssohn. Mendelssohn’s Con­certo for Two Pi­anos and Orches­tra in E ma­jor will be de­liv­ered by two young tal­ents from the HCMC Con­ser­va­tory of Music, Nguyen Thuy Yen and Pham Nguyen Anh Vu. Robert Schu­mann’s Sym­phony No. 1 in B-flat ma­jor, also known as Spring Sym­phony, con­sid­ered one of Schu­mann’s most fa­mous com­po­si­tions, will also be per­formed.
