China told not to re­turn oil rig to VN wa­ters

Prime Min­is­ter Nguyeãn Taán Duõng has de­manded China not to re­turn the oil rig or vi­o­late Vieät Nam's sovereignty and ju­ris­dic­tion again, say­ing that Vieät Nam was de­ter­mined to safe­guard its sovereignty with com­bined power and peace­ful mea­sures in line with in­ter­na­tional law. The prime min­is­ter made the state­ment while chair­ing the Gov­ern­ment's spe­cial ses­sion on law build­ing in Haø Noäi, dur­ing which he was up­dated on the lat­est de­vel­op­ments of China's il­le­gal place­ment of the Haiyang Shiyou-981 oil rig in Vieät Nam's wa­ters. China's Haiyang Shiyou-981 oil rig, which was placed il­le­gally in Vieät Nam's exclusive economic zone and con­ti­nen­tal shelf on May 2, was moved out of Vieät Nam's wa­ters on July 15.
