FTA negotiations concluded
Vieät Nam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have signed a joint declaration announcing the end of negotiations on their free trade agreement.
The two sides kicked off their FTA talks in March 2013. After eight rounds of negotiation and many technical discussions, Vieät Nam and the Customs Union have decided on the contents of the agreement, making high-level commitments to ensure both parties benefit equally.
Prime Minister Nguyeãn Taán Duõng has urged negotiation delegations from Vieät Nam and the Customs Union to finalise lastminute details so they can sign their free trade agreement in early 2015.
Duõng said the signing and implementation of the agreement will help lift relations between Vieät Nam and the Union's member nations to a higher level. It will also help bring Vieät Nam and Russia closer to their goal of reaching US$10 billion in trade revenue by 2020.
