Hanoian keeps eye on the tar­get to claim records

HAØNOÄI —- Two ad­di­tional tour­na­ment records we re­set at the Na­tional Youth Shoot­ing Cham­pi­onships in Haø Noäi yes­ter­day, ac­cord­ing to officials.

Nguyeãn Thò Hoan of the host team shot 366 points in the women’s 10-me­tre run­ning tar­get in­di­vid­ual event at the Na­tional Sports Train­ing Cen­tre yes­ter­day. Her score smashed the old record of 350 points by mil­i­tary shooter Nguyeãn Thò Thuaän AÙnh in 2011.

Leâ Thò Myõ Chung from Ñaék Laék came sec­ond and Leâ Thò Myõ Linh, another Haø Noäi markswoman, placed third.

With two fin­ish­ers in the top three, Haø Noäi eas­ily won the team event ti­tle, with a to­tal score of 1,044, which is also a new record. The old record of 956 points had been set four years ago by res­i­dents from the cap­i­tal.

The Ñaék Laék and Mil­i­tary squads placed sec­ond and third, re­spec­tively.

In the women’s 50-me­tre ri­fle prone in­di­vid­ual event, Vuõ Thò Haûi of Thanh Hoùa scored 582 points for the top po­si­tion. Nguyeãn Thò Ngaân of Vónh Phuùc and Döông Thò Luyeán from Haø Noäi fin­ished be­hind her.

Thanh Hoùa also se­cured a gold medal at the team event. The sil­ver went to Haø Noäi, and Quaûng Ninh took home the bronze. Ñoàng Nai shoot­ers grabbed the last two gold medals of the day in the women’s 10-me­ter air pis­tol cat­e­gory.

Team­mates Phan Thò Phöông Thuùy, Voõ Thò Ngoïc Dòu and Leâ Thò Nga shared the top three po­si­tions in the in­di­vid­ual class. They then took the podium again for the team pool event.

Three days later, Haø Noäi re­placed HCM City as the leader of the medal tally. The hosts have earned five gold medals. Ñoàng Nai are in sec­ond place, with four ti­tles, and HCM City, whose marks­men did not win yes­ter­day, are in third place, with three wins. —
