10 schools for FQM rugby tourney

By SPORTS REPORTER TEN schools have confirmed their participat­ion at today’s First Quantum Minerals (FQM) 15s American tournament set for Simba Internatio­nal School in Ndola on the Copperbelt.

Chief Organiser of the tournament, Philip Dongo, announced yesterday that 10 schools had subscribed for the prestigiou­s schools championsh­ip, which will see defending champions Trident College of Solwezi seeking to retain the crown bagged last year.

He named the participat­ing teams as Mpelembe, Chiwala, Kansenshi, Chifubu, hosts Simba, Chengelo of Mkushi, Masaiti, Lubuto, Masala and defending champions, Trident College.

The tournament kicks off at 09.30 hours and will run up to 14.30 hours.

Teams have been seeded and are placed in two pools with Pool A comprising of Trident, Chifubu, Mpelembe, Lubuto and Masaiti while Pool B has Chengelo, Chiwala, Simba, Masala and Kansenshi.
