Stop the political violence

Daily Nation Newspaper - - READERS FORUM -

Dear Editor,

I WRITE to appeal and actually urge all political players in Chilanga by-election to discern from violence.

The current violence being perpetuated by mainly PF and UPND supporters is uncalled for and is barbaric for a Christian nation like Zambia.

Why should blood be shed just for the sake of difference in opinion?

Let us not politics become a dirty game by the vice at all cost.

Whoever wins the Chilanga seat will be the Parliamentary representative for all Chilanga residents irrespective of political affiliation hence there is no need to shed blood because of the different choices electorates have.

Let us uphold to co-exist even as we belong to different political parties.

Electoral Commission of Zambia should also come in full force to discipline perpetrators of electoral violence by penalizing those found wanting.

We just have one life to live and that life is so precious to be lost through barbaric means of hacking. Let the peace Zambia is known for continue to be the epitome of our political dispensation that is envied world over.

Wisdom Muyunda CHINGOLA
