FDD ticks off UPND on ZCID summit

Daily Nation Newspaper - - 12 NORTH-WESTERN NEWS - By NATION REPORTER

WE are extremely disappointed with the United Party for National Development (UPND) for shunning the two day National Democracy Stakeholders’ summit organized by the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID), says FDD North Western Province provincial chairperson Mark Kalemba

In an interview with the Daily Nation in Solwezi yesterday, Mr Kalemba observed that the move by the opposition political party was not in the spirit of uniting the nation.

He said dialogue was key to resolving any conflicts adding that it did not matter who led the process.

‘’As a party in the province, we are very disappointed with our colleagues in the UPND for shunning the two day summit which is being spearheaded by the ZCID. We feel the party is up to nothing but confusing Zambians in the country,’’ Mr Kalemba said.

He said it was unfortunate for the UPND not to attend the summit saying it was the only platform where conflicts could be resolved.

He however appealed to the conveners of the dialogue to exhibit professionalism by delivering invitation letters to all stakeholders on time.

From inception the UPND had indicated that they would not be part of the dialogue process as long as it was spearheaded by ZCID.
