Maintenance works on Lumumba Road progressing well

Daily Nation Newspaper - - READERS FORUM -

Dear Editor,

THE government of the republic of Zambia through the Road Development Agency (RDA) has engaged Avic International to work on Lumumba Road.

The maintenance works commenced in April this year and they are progressing very well.

Lumumba Road stretches from Great North Road at Mandevu junction to Kafue Road near Down Town Mall.

The road was in deplorable state prior to maintenance thereby posing danger to motorists.

The road is of economic significance to Zambia because most trucks carrying goods and services use this road.

This road once completed will have six lanes, three on each side. The main benefit of this kind of road network will enhance speedy and smooth flow of traffic.

This is because there will be no congestion. Ultimately, the road carnage or rather accidents will reduce.

In light of the above, I wish to commend the government on this road project under L-400 as the trickle down benefit will soon be prevalent.

ELEMIYA PHIRI Lusaka.
