Education vital among citizens-Civic leader
EDUCATION is vital among citizens and gives them an opportunity to do well in life, Lusaka’s Mandevu Constituency Ngwerere Ward
19 Councillor Adrian Banda has observed.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Banda said his office valued education as a key component because it can transform the community positively.
Mr Banda who last Thursday donated a photocopying machine to Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe School in his ward worth K6, 500 to ease the printing needs of the school, applauded government for improving the education sector and ensuring that citizens received education.
“My office values education and we believe that for us to transform our community, education provides a platform for such transformation. We commend government for improving the education sector,” Mr Banda said.
Mr Banda added that his office would also endeavour to collaborate with the corporate world to help many other schools in his ward with various needs.
The donation comes after management at the school had written to his office on challenges faced in implementing the Information Communications Technology (ICTs) policy due to lack of equipment such as computers and printers among other items.
