Celtic con­firm Toure sign­ing

DE­FENDER Kolo Toure has re­united with his former man­ager Bren­dan Rodgers at Glas­gow Celtic, the Scot­tish club an­nounced on their of­fi­cial Twit­ter ac­count yes­ter­day.

Rodgers coached Toure at Liver­pool last sea­son be­fore be­ing booted out and re­placed by Jur­gen Klopp, who then con­sid­ered the Ivo­rian de­fender sur­plus to re­quire­ments, sub­se­quently re­leas­ing him.

Toure is set to wear jer­sey num­ber 2 at Celtic and ex­pressed his ex­cite­ment about the new chal­lenge ahead.

“Firstly, I would like thank ev­ery Liver­pool sup­porter. I had a great three years. I left a great club and now I’m join­ing another great club. Celtic has a great his­tory and it’s a priv­i­lege to be able to play for one of the best clubs in the world,” said Toure.
