Not necessary to import humour

Chronicle (Zimbabwe) - - National News -

EDITOR — Allow me to express my dissatisfaction with the fact that a number of Zimbabweans found it befitting to bring a person with physical resemblance to Rowan Atkinson, popularly known as Mr Bean.

Assuming that the guy received payment and travel costs were catered for, my heart breaks because we have a lot of local comedians who are making efforts to be visible with original content and could probably cost less.

Charging people to pay $15 as the cheapest ticket to watch someone mimic an international star shows that they have little respect for local audiences.

The fact that a whole company is funding these shows that they are embracing counterfeit products and I wonder how they would feel if someone sold a resemblance of their products.

Maybe this is me being overly sensitive, but I feel offended with this absence of inventiveness on the promoter’s part. Errol Mangwera, Hatcliffe, Harare
