For­mer MP mourns daugh­ter’s death

THE fam­ily of Zanu-PF Cen­tral Com­mit­tee Mem­ber and for­mer Mem­ber of the House of Assem­bly for Bulil­ima-Mangwe North, Cde Richard Maduke Ndlovu, has been plunged into mourn­ing fol­low­ing the death of his daugh­ter, Ms Si­bonginkosi Ndlovu in South Africa last week.

Cde Ndlovu, who was the MP for the rul­ing party in his ru­ral home in Matabeleland South from 1988 to 2000, an­nounced yes­ter­day that his daugh­ter died in the neigh­bour­ing coun­try where she had been work­ing, on 23 Au­gust.

“She was my sec­ond born and was a de­pend­able per­son in the fam­ily.

“She died af­ter a short ill­ness. She was ad­mit­ted to hospi­tal on Satur­day and died on Tues­day night.

“We have rel­a­tives across the coun­try and I have friends all over the coun­try as a politi­cian and I want to let all those peo­ple know of the sad news that we are deal­ing with as a fam­ily.

“I must how­ever, say that we have so far re­ceived sup­port from the party lead­er­ship in and around Bulawayo and that shows that the spirit of ubuntu is still among us,” he said.

Cde Ndlovu said Si­bonginkosi (40) is sur­vived by two chil­dren and her body is ex­pected in the coun­try on Satur­day and she will be laid to rest on Sun­day at Ntu­nungwe, Bulil­ima, on Sun­day.

Mourn­ers are gath­ered at House num­ber B 177 Njube, Bulawayo.
