Driver van­ishes with $26k

She said Chipan­gura of Mambo sub­urb in Gweru was sent to Kwekwe and Kadoma on Au­gust 18 to col­lect money from the com­pany’s branches.

“We are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a theft case in which a com­pany lost a to­tal of $26 000 to a dis­hon­est em­ployee.

It is said that Chipan­gura who was em­ployed at Tile and Car­pet Com­pany as a driver was on Au­gust 18 handed over $14 000 by the com­pany Kadoma branch man­ager and $12 000 by the Kwekwe branch man­ager and he al­legedly pro­ceeded to Gweru and never sub­mit­ted the money to the au­thor­i­ties,” said Asst Insp Muk­wende.
