Sil­ver for Byo in ten­nis tour­na­ment

BU­L­AWAYO Prov­ince ten­nis team scooped a sil­ver medal in the In­ter-Pro­vin­cial ten­nis tour­na­ment that was held in Harare on Tues­day and Wed­nes­day.

Harare prov­ince scooped gold while Mid­lands prov­ince walked away with bronze.

Bu­l­awayo also scooped the best team award for be­ing the best dressed, best dis­ci­plined and best sup­ported team.

“I am happy with the way our guys played. We just hope they will keep up this spirit when we play in other com­pe­ti­tions,” said team man­ager Nomvelo Ng­wenya.

In the Dun­lop tro­phy Un­der-12 girls, team Bu­l­awayo con­sist­ing of Ni­cole Maduku­tire, Hai­ley Banda, Mu­nashe Bera and Onika Ndlovu came first, Harare (A) came sec­ond while Mid­lands came third.

In the Un­der-12 boys sec­tion, Bu­l­awayo were run­ners up while Harare (A) and B came first and came third re­spec­tively.

In the Un­der-14 boys, Bu­l­awayo were run­ners up, Harare (A) and Harare (B) again came first and third while in the Un­der14 girls, Harare (A) came first fol­lowed by Harare (B) while Bu­l­awayo were third.

Harare (A) topped the group in the Dun­lop tro­phy Un­der-12 and Un­der-14 fol­lowed by Bu­l­awayo and Harare (B). In the Brooks Un­der-18 boys, Team Bu­l­awayo con­sist­ing of Tanaka Cha­bata, Hil­lary Ncube, Ti­nashe Hwata, Phiwo Moyo and An­drew Banda came out cham­pi­ons. Harare (A) came sec­ond and Mid­lands came third.

In the Un­der-18 girls sec­tion, Bu­l­awayo were third while Harare and Mid­lands came first and third re­spec­tively — @khumza­llen.
