BBA awards to honour players and coaches

BASKETBALL players and coaches will be honoured at this evening’s Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) awards at Khanyisile Sports Centre, formerly BCD.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the women’s category will see Southern Mavericks’ Sharon Chamwarura battling it out with teammates Mellisa Majonga and Brandina Muleya.

For the men’s MVP award, Southern Mavericks’ Tafadzwa Gonyora will likely face-off with teammate Liberty Nyathi.

Nominees for the men’s coach of the year are Emmanuel Mukandi from Giants, Annie Noble of Oilers and last year’s winner, Southern Mavericks coach Joe Mujuru.

Mxolisi Ndlovu of Southern Mavericks will also be out to defend her title against Sikhumbuzo Ndlovu from Lakers in the women’s category.

Excelling districts in primary schools and the best secondary school will also be honoured.
