Her deputy Cde Nomthandazo Eunice Moyo is leading a team comprising the Women’s League’s top 10 around the country’s 10 provinces.

She told The Chronicle that the training programme started in Matabeleland South yesterday.

Training programmes would be conducted in Matabeleland North and Bulawayo today and tomorrow, followed by other provinces.

“We have embarked on an induction exercise, a programme that was initiated by the First Lady (Cde Grace Mugabe) to go around provinces teaching executive members about important aspects of the department of Women’s Affairs.

“The training is on leadership, party structures, communication methods as leaders within the party and how to strengthen the party as well as taking members through the party’s constitution,” said Cde Moyo.

She said the Matabeleland South induction workshop was held at Esigodini while Lupane Hall will be the venue for today’s workshop in Matabeleland North province.

“After Bulawayo, we will take a break to have a postmortem of what we would have covered before we move to the Midlands, Mashonaland West, Harare, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Manicaland and Masvingo in that order,” said Cde Moyo.

Facilitators for the training workshops are drawn from the Women’s League executive and selected technocrats.

Each province was initially allocated two days for the training but that was slashed to one day each.

Matabeleland North Women’s League provincial chairperson Cde Madeline Bhebhe said they were ready for today’s induction that will also be attended by some Central Committee members.

“We are preparing for the programme as we expect all provincial leaders to attend,” she said.

The other provincial executive members in Matabeleland North are Cdes Dora Msimanga (Tsholotsho), Sithembile Gumbo (Lupane), Sibongile Mkandla who is treasurer from Umguza and the political commissar Grace Dube from Hwange district.
