Davies Gran­ite, Sizane sup­port HIV/Aids or­phans

BU­L­AWAYO firm Davis Gran­ite will jointly hold a fundrais­ing sports fun day with Sizane High School to sup­port pupils that have lost loved ones to the HIV/ Aids pan­demic.

The one-day event, which is in its eighth year, will be held at Sizane High and will fea­ture over 200 par­tic­i­pants in dif­fer­ent sport­ing dis­ci­plines that in­clude foot­ball, net­ball, tug-of-war, darts, chess and vol­ley­ball.

Davis Gran­ite sports day con­vener Veronica Stan­ley said: “The vi­sion of this event is to help or­phaned chil­dren at Sizane High that have lost loved ones due to the HIV and Aids epi­demic, and to make our youths aware of HIV.”

Sizane High will be joined by Chris­tian Broth­ers Col­lege (CBC) among the schools, while Daltabs, Donny Strik­ers, AG Hot­spurs, Cuban Doc­tors, Phe­land­aba Strik­ers, Davis Gran­ite, Delta Bev­er­ages, Zim­babwe Re­pub­lic Po­lice and Na­tional Foods are some of the or­gan­i­sa­tions that will join the fun.

About 14 teams have reg­is­tered for foot­ball, nine for net­ball and six for darts.

Nine teams will lock horns in the tug-of-war and four teams each will do bat­tle in chess and vol­ley­ball.
