Chronicle (Zimbabwe) - - National News -

I WOULD like to say thank you very much for your informative paper. I enjoy your coverage especially the column which takes us way back that is The Chronicle 25 and 50 years ago. This is good to make us see where we came from in Sports, Business, Politics and Social Life. — LTD, Kezi, Maphisa

WE would like to bring to your attention what I consider as acts of sabotage at Bulawayo Abattoirs, part of Grills group of companies. Surely how does one justify a price of $95 on service, slaughter. Other abattoirs provide the same service at reasonable rates i.e. between $30 and $40. I think the abovementioned abattoir is out to frustrate indigenous owned butcheries. We call upon the responsible authorities to investigate this madness. — Concerned Bulawayo Resident

CAN I ask something about ZRP Esigodini operations. How can you mount three roadblocks within a distance of less than 20km? From Mbalabala to Esigodini tollgate there are three roadblocks, lisisebenzisa nzima shame, may the Government and authorities take measures against this corruption. — Moyo, Filabusi

TEMA and Esigodini Council may you please put a fence at the dumping site since you failed to control cattle. They feed themselves on dirty things and from there the farmers slaughter them. That is very unhealthy because there are also used condoms and most things from the nearby main hospital. — Orlando Zulu, Mawabeni, Esigodini

HOW authentic are the HIV/Aids statistics. It was Gwanda then Zvishavane and now Esigodini. Fact, small areas are easy targets but how true is it. — Maxxie, Gwanda

THE residents of Four Winds, Hillside West, Newton West and Eloana want a response and action on the issue of Blue Turkey Sports Bar. How was land allocated and how is it allowed to operate as it is doing at Retreat Shopping Centre? Who was consulted and who gave the go ahead for that establishment to operate the Tshisa Nyama Side and in the manner it is doing in a residential area? The Mayor, area Councillor, Town Clerk and ZRP are in possession of a petition signed by 94 households and a hotel complaining about the noise levels disturbing the peace in the area and lowering of standards of living due to the attraction of criminal and undesirable elements to the neighbourhood, for almost a year now. Fortunately for the area residents, through the research done and information given, it is clear that things were purposely done to the exclusion of the residents and their knowledge or consent for the establishment to operate in such a manner. Enough is enough. The relevant authorities must act. — Fed Up & Upset. Hillside West.
