Chinotimba Stadium needs refurbishment

Chronicle (Zimbabwe) - - National News -

EDITOR — Chinotimba Stadium in Victoria Falls needs great facelift. It is high time that the municipality prioritises the issue of the stadium taking advantage of various refurbishment of infrastructure such as roads in the resort town.

I suggest that the municipality build dressing rooms for teams and above all erect a perfect perimeter fence to ward off hooligans. The fence which is there is dilapidated and is not worth to be in the flamboyant resort town of the country.

It is not good to see players and coaches perched on logs under huge teak forests at half time. It dampens the morale of players and coaches to work under such an environment.

Players and coaches wishing to relief themselves have no option but to use the nearby bushes, the eastern side of the stadium. This is a health hazard.

The municipality has an array of health experts and people are dumbfounded why they should not engage the responsible authorities to redress the situation. I was stunned recently when I observed a former great football player who had come with his first division side in the resort relieving himself behind shrubs in the public eyes. Ido not blame him.

Please do something. Victor “The Broken Gasket “Sibanda, Victoria Falls.
