We need to be patient with Heath Streak

Chronicle (Zimbabwe) - - National News -

EDITOR — There is no better recipe for success for Zimbabwe’s new cricket coach Heath Streak than being flanked by two famous former cricketers, South Africans Makhaya Ntini and Lance Klusener.

Given the vast experience and achievements in the game of the trio there is no doubt that a new dawn beckons for Zimbabwe

The vow that Streak made, that “We will leave no stone unturned in terms of our endeavour and quest to improve the team’s performance’’ brings hope to the Zim criket faithful.

However, for the dream to be achieved we need to be fully behind the former Chevrons captain who gave his all in the famous red, yellow and green coloured jersey .

We must not set the bar very high for the new technical coaching team nor expect immediate restoration of great results.

Despite our Chevrons having in its ranks world class players, talented all-rounders, good bowlers and batsmen we need to be patient with Streak.

The mission of course which awaits our former “Captain Marvel’’ and his backing technical team is very simple, that is to restore our pride, taking our Chevrons back to its rightful place among the cricket heavyweights in the world. Felix Zonke
