Chevrons need to improve on bowling
EDITOR — If the Zimbabwe national cricket team, the Chevrons, are to produce great results they just need to improve on the bowling department.
Recent performances show that the batsmen are doing well compared to the bowlers.
The bowlers have been leaking too many runs of late while the batsmen have been doing well either setting respectable targets or chasing the set target.
The only one area which Heath Streak and his coaching team need to work on and improve is the bowling department.
Apart from a few experienced bowlers like Luke Jongwe and John Nyumbu as well as promising and good allrounders like Sean Williams, our Chevrons lack depth in bowling and it is that department which is costing the team of late.
The fact the coach of the side, Heath Streak, is a former veteran bowler and a good former all-rounder, should see a marked improvement in the bowling area.
We hope those batsmen posting impressive runs are going to continue doing so for our Chevrons to keep rising and remain one of the finest sides in world cricket. Felix Zonke, Harare
