2 kicked out of Miss Tourism fi­nale

PREPA­RA­TIONS for the Miss Tourism Zim­babwe fi­nals to be held this Fri­day at the Harare In­ter­na­tional Con­fer­ence Cen­tre are at an ad­vanced stage amid rev­e­la­tions that two mod­els were kicked out of the con­test on Sun­day.

The two, Au­drey Mhungu from Harare and Ru­tendo Taruvinga from Masvingo failed to meet the con­test’s re­quire­ments dur­ing the boot camp.

Ini­tially, 18 girls were sup­posed to be at the boot camp, but the num­ber was re­duced to 17 af­ter one model, Tafadzwa Jaricha dropped out be­cause she had a busy ex­am­i­na­tion sched­ule.

Now, 15 con­tes­tants are left in the run­ning and will all be tak­ing to the ramp on Fri­day.

The 15 are Lip­pie Ndagura, Melissa Bure, Sindiso Ndlovu, Lau­ren Macin­tosh, Ev­er­more Njan­ja­mangeza, Ku­dak­washe Matepura, Shirley Anne Lind­say, Nonhlanhla Dube, Chiedza Chi­nake, Ashley Mor­gan, Mere­lin Ng­wenya, Ga­muchi­rai Mutero, Court­ney Ma­tende, Mem­ory Chapin­duka and Anesu Hokoyo.

MTZ spokesper­son Al­son Darikayi said prepa­ra­tions for the big day were at an ad­vanced stage.

He said the show would be broad­cast live on ZBCtv from 7PM on Fri­day. The First Lady, Dr Grace Mu­gabe, will be the guest of hon­our.

“The show will be two and a half to three hours with the girls tak­ing to the ramp as from 8PM.

“Be­fore that, there’ll be speeches from the guest of hon­our — First Lady Dr Grace Mu­gabe, Min­is­ter of Tourism En­gi­neer Walter Mzembi and the pa­tron Bar­bara Mzembi and dig­ni­tary in­tro­duc­tions.”
