Zanu-PF to hold fundrais­ing din­ner

ZANU-PF Bu­l­awayo prov­ince is set to hold a fundrais­ing din­ner on Satur­day ahead of the party’s 16th an­nual na­tional con­fer­ence to be held next month in Masvingo.

Bu­l­awayo pro­vin­cial chair­man Cde Den­nis Ndlovu said Vice-Pres­i­dent Phelekezela Mphoko would be the guest of hon­our dur­ing the fundrais­ing din­ner at Bu­l­awayo Rain­bow Ho­tel.

“We have stepped up ef­forts to raise funds for the na­tional peo­ple’s con­fer­ence in Masvingo and we are go­ing to hold our fundrais­ing din­ner on De­cem­ber 3. As a prov­ince we have an obli­ga­tion to raise our tar­get and there is a com­mit­tee tasked with mo­bil­is­ing re­sources from well-wish­ers,” said Cde Ndlovu.

He said the party has iden­ti­fied in­sti­tu­tions to ap­proach ahead of Satur­day’s fundrais­ing din­ner.

The fundrais­ing com­mit­tee is be­ing chaired by lo­cal busi­ness­man Mr Sinoti Nsingo.

The rul­ing party has set a tar­get of $50 000 for each prov­ince to fund its con­fer­ence that will be held from De­cem­ber 13 to 17 at the Masvingo Show­grounds.

Cde Ndlovu said Zanu-PF Bu­l­awayo Prov­ince also made sev­eral res­o­lu­tions on is­sues re­lated to the na­tional con­fer­ence dur­ing their pro­vin­cial co­or­di­nat­ing com­mit­tee (PCC) meet­ing held at Davies Hall yes­ter­day.

“We have a con­fer­ence in Masvingo next month so as Bu­l­awayo Prov­ince we met and came up with a num­ber of res­o­lu­tions, some of which are is­sues re­lated to the na­tional con­fer­ence such as lo­gis­tics as well as the eco­nomic sit­u­a­tion in the city,” he said.

Among se­nior party mem­bers who at­tended yes­ter­day’s PCC meet­ing were Zanu-PF Deputy Sec­re­tary for Women’s Af­fairs, Cde Nomthandazo Moyo, Polit­buro mem­ber, Cde Joshua Malinga and Cen­tral Com­mit­tee mem­ber Cde Ab­solom Sikhosana. — @mash­nets
