DUE to our economy’s decline parents adopt early child marriages to solve their hunger issues. One should know that no one can put out fire by pouring petrol or paraffin onto the fire. We cannot solve a problem by adding another problem. The best way to solve a problem is to deal with it not to run away from it. I urge all parents to assist the girl child by educating them not by selling them. The country is facing high volumes of domestic violence and maintenance has become a big industry/business because some of these girls are still immature to settle down for marriage and they still want other relationships. — Anonymous, Bulawayo.

THE relevant authorities should address the situation on our roads urgently. It seems like everyone donning a police uniform has become a traffic cop. Gone are the days of properly set up roadblocks as we are seeing every cop holding spikes, ready to vandalise cars everywhere. — Gerald Chiseni, Harare.

THE Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League is going to be very interesting this year. There are a number of teams with the potential to challenge for the title. As a Highlanders supporter, however, I am confident this is our year. We are going to walk away with that trophy. — Nosipelo Maphosa, Gweru.

I WOULD like to urge responsible authorities to expedite the remodelling of the Harare-Beitbridge road. We have lost many lives and each time we grieve, but move on as soon as our minds drift from the horrendous accident. It is virtually important to keep the condition of our highways at the back of our minds. — Darlington Dzuda, Mutoko.

IF the two Zanu-PF comrades, who tendered their resignations, did actually solicit donations for the party before clandestinely converting the proceeds to their own use, a report to the police should be made. The crime could be widespread. Apart from restitution, jail terms would discourage such actions. I trust and hope that if Cde Nomthandazo Eunice Moyo indeed stole the money meant for the party she should also tender her resignation as a Government minister. — Chirorodziva, Harare.
