SAL­IS­BURY, 30 June 1967. — The Gov­ern­ment has granted the Wa­ter­falls Trust a lease on about 10 acres of ground ad­join­ing Che­viot Road in Wa­ter­falls as a site for the Trust’s pro­posed old peo­ple’s homes.

An­nounc­ing this yes­ter­day the chair­man of the trust, Mr P Jon­s­son, said an ar­chi­tect has been com­mis­sioned to start work on a master site plan as soon as the sur­vey plan is avail­able.

“Once ev­ery build­ing needed for the com­pleted scheme has been sited, he will pre­pare work­ing plans for sin­gle and double flat ac­com­mo­da­tion and separate cot­tages for the A scheme,” said Mr Jon­s­son.

“One cot­tage has been promised al­ready and it is hoped that work will start on it within four months.”

The com­pleted scheme, as en­vis­aged at present by the Trust, will com­prise ac­com­mo­da­tion for 40 peo­ple in flats and cot­tages, full board and lodg­ing for an­other 40 in the B scheme, and hos­pi­tal ac­com­mo­da­tion for 20 in the C scheme.
