SALISBURY, 30 June 1967. — The Government has granted the Waterfalls Trust a lease on about 10 acres of ground adjoining Cheviot Road in Waterfalls as a site for the Trust’s proposed old people’s homes.
Announcing this yesterday the chairman of the trust, Mr P Jonsson, said an architect has been commissioned to start work on a master site plan as soon as the survey plan is available.
“Once every building needed for the completed scheme has been sited, he will prepare working plans for single and double flat accommodation and separate cottages for the A scheme,” said Mr Jonsson.
“One cottage has been promised already and it is hoped that work will start on it within four months.”
The completed scheme, as envisaged at present by the Trust, will comprise accommodation for 40 people in flats and cottages, full board and lodging for another 40 in the B scheme, and hospital accommodation for 20 in the C scheme.
