Muripo leaves for In­dia to­mor­row

TOP Zim­bab­wean karateka Sam­son Muripo is ex­pected to leave for In­dia to­mor­row for the Kyokushin In­ter­na­tional Train­ing Camp cur­rently un­der­way in Kolkata, In­dia, where he is hop­ing to be graded to fifth dan dur­ing the tech­ni­cal dan pro­mo­tion.

The camp be­gan yes­ter­day and the tech­ni­cal dan pro­mo­tion is on Tues­day.

The camp is be­ing led by some of the world’s karate leg­ends in­clud­ing Han­shi Oishi Daigo, who is the IKO World So-Kyokushin pres­i­dent.

Han­shi Daigo was in Zim­babwe, in July, for the first So-Kyokushin in­ter­na­tional tour­na­ment held in Chi­tung­wiza.

And he will con­duct the tech­ni­cal dan pro­mo­tion on Tues­day.

Muripo, who is fly­ing to In­dia from Jo­han­nes­burg where he has been train­ing, con­firmed his par­tic­i­pa­tion.

“Kyokushin karate tech­ni­cal dan pro­mo­tion is a very hard process. Nev­er­the­less, I have to do it for a lot of peo­ple who look up to me. ‘‘
