SALISBURY, 15 November 1967. — A recent meeting of the Mount Pleasant Boys’ High School Parent-Teachers’ Association, attended by about 25 percent of parents, decided by a small majority in favour of school being made co-educational, the chairman, Mr R Herzestein, said yesterday.
Mr Herzestein said a further meeting of local primary school PTAs would be held tomorrow night to discuss the subject. It would be held at Mt Pleasant TMB at 8pm.
He expected that a further public meeting on the proposed co-educational school for Mount Pleasant would be held next month.
“The Education Department is trying to get as much public opinion as it can on the proposals,” he said.
