More work needed on Form One registration platform

EDITOR — Government and schools should be in harmony in communicating a message to parents over use of the Form One electronic application system.

Schools should clearly state all their requirements on the platform for parents in time so that they are able to meet their deadlines.

Last time several schools accepted applications without indicating tuition fee payment time-frames but took parents by surprise when school authorities gave them 24 hours to settle fees to secure their children’s places.

Most of the parents failed to raise money within the given time frame and many children ultimately lost out.

Furthermore, the system is problematic in that it only caters for those in town but deprives those in the rural areas as they do not have internet connectivity. Natasha Dhliwayo, Marondera.
