Let’s vote wisely
EDITOR. — Now that we have gone through the critical phase of primary elections, and are eagerly waiting for the final exams on 30 July, may I suggest a few tips to the voting public.
Let us make personal assessments of the people we wish to be our future leaders for the next five years. Here I am referring to Senators, MPs, Councillors and Provincial Councillors excluding the presidium who, in my opinion were elected by the Almighty in November last year accordingly, have already passed the final exam by their performance during the past half year.
I am suggesting that we make a silent vetting of each of the aspiring ladies and gentlemen in term of their STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, OPPORTUNITIES and THREATS.
This is called SWOT analysis in management circles and can give us a clear vision of who we are going to vote for, regardless of his or her political party.
Does he or she have the right leadership qualities such as integrity, honesty, no criminal record, charisma, literacy, fairness, kindness and many other desired attributes?
We have more than a month to do this simple exercise so let’s do it.
