Forex dealer murdered
A MUTARE money changer was murdered in Zimunya by three unknown men after a dispute involving cash and money laundering.
Manicaland police Spokesperson Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa confirmed the incident, which took place in Zimunya.
Tsitsi Pakobopa (43) of House Number 10588 Federation, Dangamvura in Mutare was murdered in cold blood by three unknown men.
Her neighbours said Pakobopa was a dealer and a money changer. She reportedly argued with some of her clients over money issues but failed to resolve the disputes culminating in the unknown persons gruesomely beating her to death.
“On October 20 around 9am the deceased went to Sakubva and told her sister Judith Musiwafura of House Number 10350 Federation, Dangamvura to look after her children. She told her that she would come back in the afternoon but the deceased did not show up till late. Musiwafura tried to call her but she was unreachable,” said Insp Kakohwa.
The following day Nomore Rusvimo (24) of House Number 1020, Zimunya township with his friend Christopher Shamhu from Mafuke Village under chief Zimunya were walking towards Muradzikwa Primary School. Rusvimo was called by nature and he went into the bush were he found the deceased’s lifeless body lying facing upwards with bruises on both arms and blood flowing from the left ear.
They reported the case and police from Zimunya Police station attended the scene. The deceased was ferried to Mutare Provincial Hospital for post mortem.
“The suspected killers are still at large and police are investigating the case. We are appealing to members of the public with information leading to the arrest of the trio to contact their nearest police station,” he said.
