Forex dealer mur­dered

A MUTARE money changer was mur­dered in Zimunya by three un­known men af­ter a dis­pute in­volv­ing cash and money laun­der­ing.

Man­i­ca­land po­lice Spokesper­son In­spec­tor Tavhir­ingwa Kako­hwa con­firmed the in­ci­dent, which took place in Zimunya.

Tsitsi Pakobopa (43) of House Num­ber 10588 Fed­er­a­tion, Dangamvura in Mutare was mur­dered in cold blood by three un­known men.

Her neigh­bours said Pakobopa was a dealer and a money changer. She re­port­edly ar­gued with some of her clients over money is­sues but failed to re­solve the dis­putes cul­mi­nat­ing in the un­known per­sons grue­somely beat­ing her to death.

“On Oc­to­ber 20 around 9am the de­ceased went to Sakubva and told her sis­ter Ju­dith Musi­wa­fura of House Num­ber 10350 Fed­er­a­tion, Dangamvura to look af­ter her chil­dren. She told her that she would come back in the af­ter­noon but the de­ceased did not show up till late. Musi­wa­fura tried to call her but she was un­reach­able,” said Insp Kako­hwa.

The fol­low­ing day No­more Rusvimo (24) of House Num­ber 1020, Zimunya town­ship with his friend Christopher Shamhu from Ma­fuke Vil­lage un­der chief Zimunya were walk­ing to­wards Mu­radzikwa Pri­mary School. Rusvimo was called by na­ture and he went into the bush were he found the de­ceased’s life­less body ly­ing fac­ing up­wards with bruises on both arms and blood flow­ing from the left ear.

They re­ported the case and po­lice from Zimunya Po­lice sta­tion at­tended the scene. The de­ceased was fer­ried to Mutare Pro­vin­cial Hospi­tal for post mortem.

“The sus­pected killers are still at large and po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the case. We are ap­peal­ing to mem­bers of the pub­lic with in­for­ma­tion lead­ing to the ar­rest of the trio to con­tact their near­est po­lice sta­tion,” he said.
