Man de­mands cash back from hooker

A 25-YEAR-OLD Seke man al­legedly de­manded his money back from a com­mer­cial sex worker be­cause she had not “sat­is­fied” him, af­ter which he pro­ceeded to rob her of US$38, a mag­is­trates’ court has heard.

Tapiwa Mubaiwa of Zhanje vil­lage in Seke now faces the prospect of do­ing jail time or pay­ing a fine for rob­bery, a charge he pleaded not guilty to when he ap­peared be­fore Chitungwiza mag­is­trate MsYeukai Chigodora last Wed­nes­day.

Pros­e­cu­tor Mr Nor­man Koropi told the court that Mubaiwa ap­proached the woman in a night­club on Oc­to­ber 9, 2017 and the two agreed on a US$3 fee for their in­ti­mate li­ai­son.

Soon af­ter the frolic, it is al­leged, Mubaiwa de­manded his money back, but the woman stuck to her guns in­sist­ing that “a deal is a deal”.

“This en­raged the ac­cused who held the com­plainant’s hand and tried to take the money by force,” said Mr Koropi. “The com­plainant tried to run away, but was tack­led by the ac­cused who went on to choke her.”

Mubaiwa al­legedly grabbed a plas­tic bag with US$38 from the pros­ti­tute and van­ished. He was ar­rested fol­low­ing a po­lice re­port. In plead­ing not guilty, Mubaiwa told the court that he had never met the com­plainant.

Ms Chigodora re­manded him out of cus­tody to Tues­day.
