We are back on track

The Sunday Mail (Zimbabwe) - - COMMENT -

LAST week, you published an article highlighting that Government was going to rehabilitate, construct and upgrade at least 2 000km of road in the next two months.

If events on the ground are anything to go by, then I am positive this shall come to pass. In the Harare CBD and Avenues area, most of the roads have been rehabilitated and there is visible activity on some highways.

There was a time when such initiatives were just all talk and no action, but this time around we can see the work being done. If Government keeps this up, we are going to see our roads getting their glimmer back.

Next up should be rehabilitation of public parks, public swimming pools and community centers. The county has a lot of potential to improve its outlook as long as Government keeps this momentum. In the next few years, we will certainly be the jewel of Africa.

Thulani Dube.
