Mountie to return to court Jan. 3 on confinement, threats charges
A Regina-based RCMP member is facing charges of forcible confinement and uttering threats, stemming from an off-duty incident.In a media release, the RCMP said the accused has been placed on “administrative duties” and an RCMP Code of Conduct investigation has been ordered.According to RCMP, “the member’s name is not being released publicly in order to protect the identity of the victims in this matter.”The RCMP launched an investigation on Dec. 18 into a Dec. 10 incident that wasn’t reported until eight days later.The member was not on duty at the time the alleged offences occurred, RCMP said. No further details were provided.The accused, who made a brief court appearance before a justice of the peace shortly after being arrested and has been released from custody with several conditions, is scheduled to appear again on Jan. 3.
