MARCOS MORAN: WHEN FUTURE TASTES OF TRADITION

Marcos Moran is a renowned Spanish chef who owns sensitive menus and an undeniable passion for Asturias, his homeland. He’s also touched by cuisine and the warmth of a family that for over a century has lived for the Casa Gerardo restaurant near Gijon.

Journalism nearly enthralled him, but he turned back to the stoves his ancestors lit up. His training ranges from traditional Hispanic food to stints in different Spanish restaurants that eventually climbed to the top of the finest in the world, such as El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca, among others. He learned from the very best and was lucky to have them close at hand.

Following a long journey toward mastery and knowledge, he came back home to put his learning into his recipes and stand up for the Michelin Star both his father and grandfather won back in 1987.
