CUBAN FOOD STORIES: A MOVIE TO LICK YOUR FINGERS
When Asori Soto called up with the idea of making a documentary about Cuban food, I suspected that it would be a material jam-packed with stigmas. However, I was wrong. Asori dreamed of a different documentary film. He wanted to delve into the tastes of his childhood throughout the island. Ten years had gone then by since he had left Cuba and his return brooked no further delay.
Through nine chapters, this audiovisual reveals the secret ingredients of Cuban cuisine, the life of unforgettable people, the flavors and aromas of a country. A trip in search of the tastes of Cuba put us aloof from a static and repetitive vision, and brought us to unravel a world we didn’t know.
