Analysts: Inflation in September neared 7%

-

Inflation in September is expected to have reached 6.9 percent, according to private estimates, pushed higher by food prices.

The most recent Central bank survey of market expectations before the INDEC national statistics bureau confirms last month’s figure forecast that prices jumped by between 6.7 and 6.9 percent.

Analysts now project that inflation for the current year will reach 100.3 percent this calendar year, a rise of 5.3 points in a month.

The experts quizzed in the poll also predicted that inflation next year will reach 90.5 percent, up 6.5 points on the previous month’s forecast.

Most private analysts highlighted the impact of food prices on last month’s inflation, which were forecast to have jumped eight percent during the period.
