PLUGGING INTO TECH
Heinrich tours trio of energy startups
Anew plug-in solar system that its maker says could reshape residential energy got a close look from one of the U.S. Senate’s most prominent clean energy voices. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., toured a trio of energy startups at the Sandia Science & Technology Park on Friday, where Charles Call, the incoming CEO of Pii Energy, explained the features of his company’s plug-in solar system.
The other two companies Heinrich visited included Gridflow — a startup developing a lithium-ion flow battery that separates sulfur into a liquid reservoir capable of providing electricity for 20 or more hours — and Zenthos Energy, which is developing aluminum-CO2 battery technology.
