Successful staging of first-ever Philippine Furniture Furnishing­s Market

Furniture has been used not only for its functional purposes but also as a means of expressing artistic and cultural values. It is a way to showcase one's tradition and heritage. This was evident during the recent Philippine Furniture Furnishing­s Market (PFFM), which took place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The event was organized by Derrisen Sdn Bhd.

Countries across Asia, including China, Malaysia, and Thailand, showcased their highqualit­y furniture and furnishing products, offering a diverse range of choices to fulfill the sourcing needs of the local market. Manila FAME also showcased Filipino furniture and furnishing products at an exhibit booth.

Over 48 companies showcased the latest trends in home furniture, outdoor furniture, office and commercial furniture, home décor, and lifestyle products. Among them: Changzhou Star Furniture Co. Ltd., East Coast Furnitech Public Co. Ltd., Hup Chong Furniture Sdn. Bhd., Instyle Sofa Sdn. Bhd., Kinheng Furniture Sdn. Bhd., Legend Dynamic Sdn. Bhd., Luoyang Eastern Sunrise Co. Ltd., Smooth Star Enterprise Sdn Bhd, Biotrend Resources Sdn. Bhd., Acme Upholstery Manufactur­ing Sdn. Bhd., Anji Liansheng Furniture Co. Ltd., Anji Yinafu Home Supplies Co. Ltd., Anji Wanbao Intelligen­t Home Technology Co. Ltd., among others.

"With the first-ever Philippine Furniture Furnishing­s Market, we are able to highlight the creativity of Asian furniture designers, manufactur­ers, and suppliers, thereby helping intensify the demand for products on the global stage," said Vicky Tan, PFFM project director, Derrisen Sdn Bhd.

The PFFM spanned three days, from July 5-7. Seminars discussing the latest trends in the world of furniture and furnishing­s were also held at the Mabuhay Hall during the event.

According to the company's statement, the show attracted at least 8,000 trade visitors, including furniture and furnishing importers, wholesaler­s, distributo­rs, and agents, as well as retailers, interior designers, and developers.
