Starsign ex-Celtic keeper
Dalbeattie Star boss David Taylor has strengthened his squad this week with the arrival of a new goalkeeper.
Former Celtic and Annan Athletic shotstopper, Ethan Mitchell, has put pen to paper on a deal at Islecroft that sees him arrived from West of Scotland Football League outfit Cumbernauld United.
And Taylor is thrilled to get a man of his experience in the door ahead of their venture into the new Lowland League West this coming season.
He told the club media: “We are delighted to secure the services of Ethan, who is one of two fantastic goalkeepers we have brought to the club, and can’t wait for him to get in and get started with us following the expiration of his current contract at Cumbernauld.
“He is a highly rated goalkeeper and has previous first-team experience with Annan Athletic, which will stand him in good stead for our upcoming campaign.”
Mitchell’s arrival on Wednesday came hot on the heels of striker Cammy Mitchell returning to the club last week.
Taylor added:“Cammy is a player we know very well, having previously been at the club for two seasons. He was part of our 2023/24 squad that won the league title.
“He is a talented player with an eye for goal, he can play anywhere across the front line and is one of the most committed players that I’ve ever worked with.”
