Move to buy Jorg

BRAZILIAN club Flamengo want to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho in this window.

They have long-term ambitions to bring in the Italy international but have made overtures to try and do business in January.

Jorginho, 33, only has six months left on his current deal but there is a 12-month option and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has said numerous times how much he rates him as a player and as a person.

Even though Jorginho’s game time has been limited, Arsenal would be reluctant to let him go before the summer when they will step up efforts to sign Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are pushing for a deal to sign Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko this month.
