LEEDS are tracking RB Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson.

The club is interested in the 21-year-old USA international after losing star man Kalvin Phillips to a long-term injury.

Marcelo Bielsa’s squad has been decimated by injuries of late and their precarious Premier League position has highlighted the need for reinforcements.

Aaronson’s style fits boss Bielsa’s need for athletic players and the 15-times capped American has impressed in Austria during his breakthrough season with the club.

Salzburg have advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League with Aaronson’s help.

But he is an attractive option for Leeds given the investment in the club from the San Francisco 49ers.
