Hammers go Isco dancing
WEST HAM are early favourites to sign Isco now Real Madrid have decided to put the attacking midfielder up for sale in January.
The 29-year-old is not in Real boss Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and has not played for the Spanish giants since September.
Contact has already been made with the Hammers – while Leeds have also been sounded out.
Isco has a contract until June and Real hope to claw back around £3-4million, rather than lose him for free then.
Alternatively, they may be open to a loan until the summer with West Ham paying the player’s wages in full.
Isco, capped 38 times by Spain, is also being offered to La Liga clubs but prefers a new challenge in England. He has already rejected offers from Asia.
West Ham’s continued interest may depend on how discussions on a deal to bring Jesse Lingard back to east London from Manchester United fare.
Manager David Moyes is unlikely to sign both playmakers and Lingard’s negotiations on a new contract at Old Trafford have stalled.
