Ange: There’s always noise about United. I’ve no interest
Ange Postecoglou has claimed that he has no interest in the noise around Marcus Rashford and Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur will aim to take another step towards ending their lengthy trophy drought when they host the Red Devils for a Carabao Cup quarter-final tonight.
“There’s always noise about United, come on mate. Where have you been?” the head coach answered a reporter when quizzed about England forward Rashford.
“No interest. Don’t care. Not interested. He is a Manchester United player. A very good player, they have plenty of good players, but I manage my players.
Asked if Rashford was a target for January, Postecoglou (below) insisted: “That’s not on my radar. You can ask me about Marcus but you can ask me about every single Premier League footballer, I’ll say the same.”
Spurs had a muchneeded 5-0 win at Southampton last Sunday but were forced to bring off Destiny Udogie. The left-back felt “sore” in his quad, Postecoglou said, and may sit tonight’s match out ahead of this Sunday’s visit of Liverpool. The club could move nearer a first piece of silverware in 17 years tonight, but Postecoglou said: “I don’t think quarter-finals is close. You get to a final, then you’re close. There is still a fair bit of football to be played.”
