MAGICIAN
When he’s not working at Shenye CG Studio in Wuhan, China, Ruiheng Liu is busy working on his own projects like Magician. With its realistic textures, excellent use of light and considered composition, this piece showcases Ruiheng’s many talents as a 3D artist.
The project took four months to complete, with a lot of work going into the face in particular. “I considered a lot of factors, like his experience and feelings,” Ruiheng reveals. “I wanted an image where people could read a story from his face. I did several different versions and picked the one I liked the most.”
Working on Magician taught Ruiheng a little about animation and visual effects, too, and he hopes to do more of this sort of work in the future. “I hope I’ll be one of the top CG artists one day,” he says.
