STEP BY STEP SPEED UP THE TEXTURING PROCESS WITH ZAPPLINK
01 PREPARE THE MODEL
In order to use Zapplink, we have to prepare the object we want to texture. Increase the subdivision or set it to the highest level. Position the tool to the side you want to paint on. You can switch off the Perspective view or leave it on. Test both options to see which one works better for your model.
02 SELECT THE PLUGIN
In the Document menu, choose Zapplink. In the pop-up menu, select the image editing software of your choice. Enable Colorization. You get to choose if you want to work on a double-sided image, or enable Fade so the edges blend in on import. Press Drop Now.
03 IN PHOTOSHOP
You have three layers automatically created in Photoshop. Do not alter the very top and bottom layers. Work on the created mask in Layer 1. You can paint on it as you would normally do with any set of tools, or apply an image instead. Merge down all new layers apart from the top and bottom ones.
04 BACK TO ZBRUSH
When you are happy and have finished editing the texture, all you need to do is save the file. Return to Zbrush. Zapplink should automatically recognise the changes. You just have to accept them by pressing Pickup Now. That is the whole process. Nice and easy!
