It took Konstantinos Anninos, freelance archviz artist and co-owner of Threelight CGI, five days to create a whole set of images for his Green Apartment project. Anninos has been involved with the arch-viz industry for two decades and loves working on realistic 3D environments. Artistic inspiration for these environments is found in everything around him. “I believe that every artist should be inspired by all the natural and artificial elements around us, from the most simple to the most complex,” he adds.

Anninos’ process is almost exactly the same for every piece, helping him to work quickly and without compromise. Green Apartment was inspired by interior designer Konstancja Mora Korytowska's stunning apartment in Poland. With the modelling complete, Anninos begins to work on textures and details. He continues: “I love to add scratches, dirt and dust, combined with Corona AO and Corona Distance texture on almost all the surfaces.”

When it comes to the most enjoyable part of the process, Anninos cites finding the best possible lighting to make the image as fresh and realistic as possible. “I am searching for the best possible lighting that will satisfy me with the mood, but at the same time make the prepared model look great,” he explains. “That will ensure everything works fine and I can keep working on the rest of the elements. Most of the time I use HDRI lighting, but the Corona Sun and Sky system is powerful too.”
