William Silva created this touching tribute to actor

Chadwick Boseman. “As it was for everyone, the loss of Chadwick Boseman was unexpected and very sad,”

Silva explains. “He was an icon in the struggle for representation. I really liked being able to make a tribute to him with his most memorable character, Black Panther.”

Silva begins his creative process by gathering and organising references in Pureref. “I make a sketch in Photoshop simplifying and styling the person as a cartoon, but keep the main characteristics,” he continues. After blocking out and polishing the shapes in Zbrush, Silva works on UV mapping and texturing in Blender.

“I used the three-point light technique and placed the key light in front of the character, an HDRI sky to fill the scene, and a rim light behind to make a small silhouette.”
