GOLD RUSH

When the Maude was first discovered in 1893 it produced some 19,000oz of gold over the following 20 years. The Yellow Girl did much the same, but that all pales when new mining and processing techniques in the 1930s allowed new owners to work both mines. The next 20 years produced a staggering 103,000oz of gold (worth more than $170 million today).
