LAST RESORT

MANY years ago when approaching Mount Dare in SA prior to a Madigan Line crossing of the Simpson Desert, after three days of driving, my mate Michael Ellem and I became bogged within site of the old pub that once stood there. The Defender 130 we were driving was running tough Cooper ® STT tyres with tubes, which allowed us to drop air pressure to just 6psi. We managed to gingerly crawl our way out of the slimy mud and made our way to the pub without assistance. There’s no way we could have done that on road tyres.
